Cottage Revival

In the heart of downtown Willamette, just steps from the historic district, stood a 1907 home that had endured more than a century of change. Time and a series of well-meaning remodels had diminished its charm, leaving only hints of the home it had once been. The vision was a full revival—to breathe life back into the house, restore its spirit, and prepare it for the next hundred years. My objective was to develop a concept that introduced fresh appeal while honoring the home's original story.

The restoration reached far beyond cosmetics. Stripped to the studs, the home received new systems, structural improvements, and updated efficiencies woven seamlessly into its historic shell. The floor plan was carefully reworked to include a second bathroom by transforming the former utility room into an en-suite bath and walk-in closet.

Period details returned through custom millwork reminiscent of the home’s original craftsmanship, vintage-inspired lighting and hardware, rich classic color palettes, and handcrafted tile. Every element was chosen with intention, ensuring the home feels both authentic to its era and livable for today.
